VW Jetta Birthday!!!!

One year this month! And 73846 Kms Later.

If you think about it... If I drove an average of 100 kms an hour
this past year represents 730 hours of driving....

Given that I already put in a 40+ hours a week (2200+ hrs a yr) at the office... Driving the VW is like having another P/t job..... Wow, never thought of it that way before.

15 YEARS !!!!!!!

Today is a milestone......

Our 15-year wedding anniversary!

What a difference 15 years make, We had a good laugh watching our wedding video, everyone was so young, I had hair!!!!!

A quiet celebration dinner out as a family.....

Went for a spring walk with the kids to a local conservation area.

Shyla (the dog) took particular interest in a tree. So we investigated.

Found a small hole (no bigger than a toonie) and thought something small crawled in there, so of course we started poking in it with sticks (very gently I may add)

Kids were excited but somewhat freaked out... Kaitlyn walked around the back of the tree to find it half rotted and open at the top ( 7 feet or so off the ground)

So to find out what was inside I reached up and pointed the camera down the hole and snapped a shot.... and immediately looked at the camera screen to see what I captured. Nothing, just some fur in the distance. so I reached up again and took another one, and again immediately seeing what was on the screen, but this time I had a cute but very annoyed face of a raccoon staring at me... I jumped back and took the kids with me.

The raccoon slowly got up and took off, much to the dogs disappointment. and we went on - tell our grand story to ourselves over and over....



Well when Kaitlyn got home and downloaded the pictures she made a startling discovery... The Raccoon was not alone... It had a baby! Click on the picture and notice under the raccoon on the left side a small set of eyes with a black little nose. Mommy raccoon must not have been very happy with us. Am I ever glad I didn't peek my head over the rotted stump!!!

The kids really wanted me to post these pics of the 4 leg'd creatures that roam our house - unfortunately some of them roam at very strange hours.

Weekend in Peterborough!

Last weekend we had opproutnity to visit Peterborough... I haven't been there since my Farm King days!

Some highlights were:

their riverside zoo (free!!!!)
fun at the holiday inn.
Visiting Friends - Thanks for the GREAT Breakfast!!!!!
Kennedy (9yrs old - I think) came along with us.

Apprently the Zoo is very selfish... they want to have the only animals in the world. so they post a sign telling us not to feed "your" animals... this confused the kids very much.....(Bottom Picture) I'm sure it was just an effort to get the citezens of the city to take responsiblity for the aminals, but it seemed like a strange sign.
